It’s cold and damp, and almost snowing on Union Pacific’s Wasatch grade during the morning of May 8, 2019. UP Big Boy No. 4014 descends the slope at Castle Rock, Utah, as the the locomotive leads the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike special toward Echo Canyon, shrouding its train in steam.
