Botsford (BO). Michigan Central's BO (Botsford) Tower opened on October 2, 1914 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Owned by the Michigan Central and once responsible for lines controlled by Grand Trunk Western, New York Central, and Pennsylvania Railroads, as well as an Interurban, the present day tracks are used by WATCO's Grand Elk Railroad, Norfolk Southern, and Amtrak. It survived as a manned tower until control of its signals and switches was made remote and it closed on October 24, 2016, but but it took until Tuesday, December 28, 2021 for the wrecking ball to appear, making quick work of demolishing the structure. On January 24, 2021 Amtrak Michigan Train 352 (Wolverine) passes with Siemens SC44 IDTX 4632 leading on the journey from Chicago, Illinois to Pontiac, Michigan, with the building already appearing to be on short time.
