Midway. The former Amtrak Station in St. Paul, Minnesota was called "Midway". This station was closed for passenger service on May 7, 2014, when Amtrak moved area services to the restored Saint Paul Union Depot. But the Empire Builder still passes through this location every day, and with prior arrangement with the Minnesota Commercial Railway, private cars can be cut off and parked at the former platform. On August 1, 2021, Webb Rail's former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built Pullman dome/sleeper 313 (WEBX 801044) and former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built dome/coach 549 (WEBX 801045) sit on track 2 during a two day stop while heading west on the Amtrak Empire Builder (Train 7/27). They would be added to that night's consist and arrive in Portland, Oregon 2 days later.
