Remarks & Notes
Railcar Bhe 1/2 # 22 of the steepest rack railroad in the world left Pilatus Kulm station as train CC 24 and is running along the Esel rock wall down to Alpnachstad, the travel time is about 40 minutes. The 80 centimeter gauge Pilatusbahn from Alpnachstad to Pilatus Kulm was opened in 1889 and is the only one to use the Locher cogwheel system, the height difference is 1635 meters, the line length is 4618 meters. Most of the railcars date from 1937, when the line was electrified with 1650 V DC. They will be replaced by 8 new railcars from StadlerRail in 2023. In the background is Titlis mountain visible.
