Amtrak train 3, the westbound Southwest Chief, is just 37½-miles into its 2,265-mile journey from Chicago IL to Los Angeles CA, and it is already 23 minutes late – an inauspicious start! AMTK P42DCs 201 and 40 are pulling seven cars on this first day of Autumn. (Aurora, Illinois – September 23, 2021)
