| Back in the early days of Conrail only a few bursts of color are beginning to show through the uniform black overcast that pervaded Penn Central territory. Westbound hoppers are accelerating through Duncannon, PA on what is still a three track railroad (the old westward freight track having been removed almost two decades before). The eastward home signals for View interlocking, still an open block station, can be seen above the first two cars in the train. To the left of the lead locomotive the rear end of an eastbound freight is visible as several trains are stacked up waiting for room to enter Enola yard as Conrail experiences growing pains. |
