Remarks & Notes
A restored Erie EMD E8(A) sits under cloudy skies in Port Jervis, NY, on October 4th, of 2009. No. 833 was acquired by the New York & Greeenwood Lake Railroad and repainted from its previous Conrail Executive train livery back into its original Erie livery. The original intent was to run dinner excursions along the Delaware River, but sadly, those plans never materialized.

On Thursday, April 29, 2021, the locomotive left its long time home in Port Jervis, destined for SMS in South Jersey, arriving on June 2nd, 2021. Prior to that, No. 833 led a storied career of hauling the Erie’s long distance trains, a Cleveland-Youngstown commuter train, which ended in January of 1977, Conrail’s Office Car Specials (as CR 4022), and some excursions across New Jersey and New York. In 2014, No. 833 also made an appearance (towed) at Spencer, NC, for the Streamliners event.
