Running the South Branch Gorge. Far below the rocky cliffs, the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad's excursion train travels south along the South Branch of the Potomac River near Wickham, WV. The B&O-painted lead unit looks right at home here in old B&O territory, but she's actually a veteran of the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad, having spent a 50 year career hauling coal, coke and iron ore for that line before coming here in the early 2000s.
