Remarks & Notes
One of the most luxourious trains worldwide is the "Venice Simplon-Orient-Express" (VSOE), founded by James Sherwood of Kentucky, USA, in 1982, and part of the Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. Nowadays owned by the Belmond company. The train run usually from London (separate carriages in the UK) via Paris-Basel-Buchs-Innsbruck-Brenner-Verona to Venice and back. Because of temporarily closure of the Brenner line in Austria, the train was diverted via the Gotthard line and pulled by Re 4/4 II # 11194 and # 11140 over the 150 meter long Reuss bridge between Oberrüti and Rotkreuz.
