The second schedule Dinner Train is slowly working its way westbound for the East Chattanooga Belt Line with the only sole survivor of the Tennessee Alabama & Georgia Railway locomotive Nº 80. The GP38 was purchased by the railroad in 1968 as it’s last new piece of equipment before the acquisition by the Southern Railway in 1971. TAG Nº was giving “The John A. Chambliss” name and class number in honor of the company VP for his 80th birthday. The locomotive wore that name in the Southern Rwy era till the Norfolk Southern days where the locomotive was in active service till retirement in 2001. The Chambliss Family purchased the locomotive and donated to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, till its full restoration was completed in 2016, and placed back into revenue service the following year.
Not

Railroading is a 24 hour a day business, that never sleep. From sunset to sunrise the railroad must run. These image are taken by some of the best rail photographer out their.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
