For a brief 36-hour period, NJT 4109 (NJ Transit CNJ Heritage Unit) was temporarily reassigned to home rails on the ex-CNJ Raritan Valley Line. This was done to honor the last CNJ engineer on the roster, Frank "Jethro" Strunk, who retired on July 20th. Having been attached to this consist at Raritan, the train is charging east to Newark Penn Station on Jethro's penultimate run. The engine began its life as CNJ 3677 making it one of the few heritage locomotives to come from the railroad that its livery conveys.
