Pan-tastic run-by. I rarely take pan shots, especially when the subject is a diesel. There are so many other photographers who are so much better at it than I am. I usually defer to the "Pan Master"....meaning my friend, Mitch Goldman. Unfortunately, Mitch was unable to attend this particular event, so I felt that someone needed to fill in for him. So, as the Potomac Eagle Scenic's B&O-painted F7(A) trundled across the Sycamore Trestle at Falling Springs Gap in Sycamore, WV for the umpteenth time, I elected to give the pan a shot. This was my best frame at 1/15th and although it was pretty darn sharp, it was tough to feel good about it.....because I know Mitch would have probably been down around 1/8th.....and probably slower. :o)
Pace and pan shots of trains from on the ground or in the air. If you're not in the locomotive cab or on-board the train, it's the next best thing to being there.
Photos of North America's favorite First Generation locomotives. EMD, ALCO, Baldwin; essentially anything that represents the OG wide cab diesel locomotive
