On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, Amtrak Train 856 (AMTK 118, P42DC) was awaiting the arrival of Canadian Pacific Train 930 (which will become Norfolk Southern Corp 30T) at the Saratoga Springs, New York station. The Amtrak train was operating over the route of the Ethan Allen Express to Rutland, VT that day to requalify crews ahead of the return of service on Monday, July 19, 2021. Service between Albany-Rensselaer, NY and Rutland, VT (Ethan Allen Express) and Greenfield, MA and St. Albans, VT (Vermonter) was suspended in April, 2020 as COVID-19 reduced riding schedule changes.
