Eastbound Union Pacific Manifest ES44AC No.7663 turns out to be the last train past Rowena some 20 miles west of here. The Garbage Train that had passed by earlier set off the detector east of here with dragging equipment and stopped to inspect. Finding no problems they continued. The radio started talking about a fire near the tracks at Rowena and the if the Garbage train may have started it. UP crews were responding along with Fire Units and aircraft. They quickly got it under control and the Portland Sub was reopened in a couple of hours.
