Remarks & Notes
BNSF train S-PEASCO3-10, an Intermodal Stack heading to Long Beach CA from Pearland TX, rounds the curve at the west end of Ludlow, on the railway’s Needles Sub. This train is led by an ES44C4 (6631) and a pair of Dash 9-44CWs (740 and 4746) – BNSF 740 was one of the first three engines painted in the "Premium Heritage," or so-called "Heritage II" paint scheme (more orange, less green, a cigar band on the nose and large yellow initials on the hood, along with broad yellow and black stripes), when delivered in August 1997. These three engines (739, 740 and 745) effectively killed off the brief return of the red and silver "Superfleet" scheme, and also the "Heritage" scheme applied to the new power until early 1998.
