Remarks & Notes
The setting sun bathes BNSF intermodal stack train S-LPCLHG3-04 in a golden glow, accentuating the orange on the engines, as it nears its destination of the Los Angeles Harbor’s Global Gateway South, some 33 or so miles ahead. This monster train, 15,385-feet in length (just under three miles), has four engines up from (BNSF ES44C4 8339, GECX Dash 9-44CW 4869 (ex-BNSF 4869), BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5363 and BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5309), three engines mid-train (BNSF ET44C4 3878, BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5524 and BNSF Dash 9-44CW 1087) and two on the rear (BNSF ET44C4 6628 and BNSF ES44DC 7630) – a total of 39,600 horsepower to get this train here from Chicago.
