Just south of Fort Scott there is a zero population/railroad-only place called Edward, where the ex-Frisco mainline splits, with one track heading to SL-SF hub Springfield, MO, the other to Afton, OK where it joins the Cherokee Sub. On a nice, springish afternoon (still a little bit cold), a Springfield-bound train is passing Edward behind a pair of SD40-2s spliced by a cabless B30-7AB.
