Straddling the city line between Santa Fe Springs (Santa Fe Springs, which is Spanish meaning "holy faith," was first applied to mineral springs purchased by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway in 1886) and La Mirada (Spanish for "the mirada") is BNSF double stack train S-ALTLHG1-15L (with 73 loaded cars stretching 6525-feet operating from Alliance TX to Los Angeles Harbor's Global Gateway South [GGS]), holding on Main 2 for the afternoon Amtrak and Metrolink passenger rush. Unlike most of the other freights parked between Corona and Los Angeles' Hobart Yard, this one has a crew on it. This train shed some cars and locomotives along the way, losing mid-train DPU diesels 3934, 7168 and 5858 and 65 loaded cars. BNSF SD70MACe 9749 (an upgraded SD70MAC) and ES44C4 8198 can easily handle this train, once it gets moving again. Preliminary work, such as relocating underground gas and water lines, has already begun in preparation for this section of the BNSFs San Bernardino Sub underneath the intersection of Rosecrans and Marquart Avenues, currently California's most dangerous grade crossing – partly because the railroad bisects this busy intersection.
