Remarks & Notes |
A loaded oil train cruises down the Aurora Sub a few minutes before sunset. The train crosses one of the many causeways that takes the Aurora Sub across the back waters of the Mississippi River along this St. Paul to Chicago corridor. The bright sunny day and mid-40 temperatures has the top layer of ice melting and leaving a weird texture to the ice. One could scrape down thru 3-4 inches of slush on these frozen back lakes, but it was long ways from a safety worry as there was still around 12-18 inches of ice there. |
