All trains originating at Southern Pacific’s West Colton Yard depart eastbound, and westbound trains, such as this LA Basin “Hauler,” depart eastbound and use the balloon track to make a 360º turn. As it exits the balloon train, the power (a pair of GP35s, 6557 and 6525, along with an SD40 and two U33Cs) pass the rear of the train, which is still heading eastward.
