Remarks & Notes
33 Of A Kind. Although not the most sought after class on engines on the road for photographers, NJ TRANSIT 4015 is one of 33 Alstom built PL42ACs that are a unique type. Equipped with what was modern technology when constructed 2003-2006, their operational history combined with the complications involved in a potential overhaul have lead to the idea that these will be replaced by the arrival of the new ALP-45A class, leaving many older EMD units on the roster. On Thursday, April 8, 2021, Train 1225 is making up time as it approaches Disposal Road in Lyndhurst, New Jersey on the Main Line, with Upper Hack Lift Bridge and the Manhattan skyline including the Freedom Tower in the background.
