Remarks & Notes |
A local train from Mürzzuschlag to Payerbach-Reichenau crosses the Kalte Rinne Viadukt and will soon disappear in the Polleros Tunnel on its descent of the northern ramp of the Semmeringbahn line in Austria. This EMU series was the backbone of Vienna's S-Bahn suburban rapid transit system from the 1980s to the 2000s, when newer air-conditioned units displaced them. They dominated local trains on the Semmeringbahn throughout the 2010s, but the newer EMUs replaced them here, too, last year. |
