NS Wabash heritage unit #1070 flies past the coal prep plant in Keystone, WV on March 7, 2021 hauling train 393. This structure according to my sources, as part of the coal preparation process, contains a thermal dryer used to dry the fine and ultrafine particulates of soft low-volatile coal that a centrifuge cannot. Apparently it is nearly impossible to get a permit to build a thermal coal dryer in
West Virginia today. Nonetheless, a coal facility has stood at this property for over 120 years and stands as a testament to a once integral part of this town's industry and life.

just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
