An eastbound Burlington Northern freight has followed the Mississippi River since departing the crew change point of La Crosse, Wisconsin, and is now approaching Savanna, Illinois on July 20, 1991. When the train gets to the junction at Plum River just south of Savanna, it will either head east to Chicago (likely), or south to Galesburg.
