Big MACs. Norfolk Southern SD80MACs 7201 (ex-CR 4102) and 7212 (ex-CR 4120) sit at South Fork, Pennsylvania on the afternoon of Saturday, May 4, 2019. These 5,000 horsepower units were from a different era in the evolution of freight engines, when EMD was manufacturing progressively higher horsepower single units. Conrail was ready to order more of them, but after it was taken over by CSX and NS the orders were changed. All 28 of the units that NS ultimately rostered have been sold to Progress Rail.
