| The CP east(north) radio switch not responding to the radio code the Conductor from the 2208 is forced to manually hand operate the switch. While this takes place allow me to try to remember the historical values in this photo from left to right. When I first got transferred to the south end of what was once the Milwaukee Road by the CP(1990) I remember the Bettendorf freight car works on the very left of the photo...abandoned by that time......the Milwaukee or by the time I came here the CP yard was on the left DRI&NW mainline down the middle and CB&Q(BNSF) yard on the right......DRI&NW yard farther down below of their depot which just succommed a few years ago.....The interurban lines of the CD&M(Clinton Davenport and Muscatine) were on the far right under what's left of the high tension towers..........the two large buildings in the back round are pretty recent of gambling casino fame!! |
