On the occasion of a major railway festival in Koblenz, the historic VT 98 ran, as in earlier times, on the connecting route between the Swiss Koblenz and the German Waldshut. The Rhine bridge, in the middle of which is the border between the countries, was also used. The bridge dates from 1859 and has so far defied all plans to shut down, demolish and rebuild!
