After a rather good morning in Atlanta with K444 & P52, I headed north for Etowah to grab W024, a loaded welded rail train with a SD50-3 leading a SD40-2. After waiting over 3 days to leave Etowah, it finally got a crew late in the afternoon & started to head south for Atlanta. Here, we see it passing through Old Fort, TN as the sun breaks through the clouds. You know you're having a good day when an SD50 leader is not at the top of your priority list in 2021, even if there were only 4 of them active on CSX at the time that this was shot.
