Cresting Elkhorn Grade, Norfolk Southern #4135 and #1079 cross Cooper's Trestle near Bramwell, WV on January 16, 2021. The bridge passing below the enormous steel and concrete Norfolk & Western structure is the former N&W Bluestone Branch. Much of the line is still intact and used rarely for car storage. In fact, in most places on the Bluestone Branch, trees have filled in between the rails and right of way indicating signs of mother nature reclaiming lost territory. In a winter scene such as this, this area has a definite Christmas card appeal.
