The tracks appear to head straight into Grizzly and Red Crow Mountains inside Glacier National Park, the national park that The Great Northern Railway helped promote legislation for that ended up establishing Glacier National Park in 1910. The tracks from this point continue to East Glacier Park Village and over the continental divide via Marias Pass. The pass was charted in December 1889 by John Frank Stevens, principal engineer of the Great Northern Railway.
Railroading is a 24 hour a day business, that never sleep. From sunset to sunrise the railroad must run. These image are taken by some of the best rail photographer out their.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
