The rain stop for a brief moment on this muggy summer morning as CSX K457-10 (Decatur,IL-Greenville,SC/GRLW) eases south over the Georgia Highway 11 and, the NS AGS North-End for the 0 track at Wauhatchie Yard. K457 is heading to Lincoln Energy Solution just north of Belton, SC by way of the Greenville Northern Rwy. Two things you will not see again is the pair of C40-8 on CSX, and the train itself. I can't recall what was the reason behind K457 and, counterpart K458 being abolished, but that was a unit train worth catching from time to time especially when UP power was assigned to it.
Looking back down memory lane at the last generation of GE spartan cab which includes the six axles C series and four axles B series throughout the various of Class 1 Railroads in North America throughout the years.
