Tough Thoroughbred. Norfolk Southern Corp 7118 (GP60, 1991) leads train 93M through Marysville, Pennsylvania towards Enola Yard on the evening of Friday, November 20, 2020. Built in 1991, it is the newest overall classification of the EMD GP series, and at 3,800 horsepower the most powerful. The "Thoroughbred" paint scheme was employed by NS for many years, but has since given way to the "Horsehead" as the standard. NS purchased 50 GP60s from EMD, and most are still in service today with this paint scheme.
