The Most Famous Small City On The Mohawk? Little Falls, New York (population was 4,946 at the 2010 census) is small city on both the Mohawk River and present day CSX line of the same name. But it was a favorite location of New York Central company photographer Ed Nowack to capture its trains, and the Central's extensive public relations operations spread his photos far and wide. The landscape has changed over the years, but the presence of the commercial district above the grade still makes it a desirable location for photographers. On the afternoon of Wednesday, December 9, 2020, CSX Q158-08 (CSXT 163, AC44CW) heads towards its ultimate destination of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a moderate snow event coating the landscape.
