| It was not unusual for empty coal trains from Peoria area power plants to have a SP AC4400 leading. Given that cab signalling was required once these trains reached the UP Geneva Sub at Nelson, the power was usually turned on the P&PU at Peoria. Here is such an example, with the power going over the switch leading to the Illinois River bridge, while a P&PU transfer job waits in the distance. |
