In spite of it being Halloween, Norfolk Southern SD45-2 1700 (ex-Conrail 6654, née Erie Lackawanna 3669 (SD45-2) leads light power on Conrail Shared Assets OI-16 over CP Karen in Carteret, New Jersey on the afternoon of October 31, 2020 in its standard attire. One of two "true" heritage units that NS repainted into their as built colors, 1700 is likely on short time on this portion of the Garden State Secondary/Chemical Coast Line, as it will not be receiving PTC compliant with NJ Transit's system on the Newark Division. On even shorter time is full light on the bridge for this picture with this engine, as daylight savings time reverted to standard time just a few hours later.
