“Third Crossing” Along the former PRR Middle Division, NS 23Z, a Croxton, NJ to Chicago (63rd St), IL intermodal, charges west, just before its third crossing of the Juniata River, at Ryde, PA.
The railroad here crosses the Juniata on a 10-span stone arch bridge, almost 800 feet in length, constructed by the PRR in 1906-07 during the realignment program between Ryde and Mt. Union.
