| In the last 5 years the CN has spent tons of money in the Iron Range/Superior area to help improve capacity. The CN has done a couple double track projects on the grades getting in and out of Pokegama. Also CTC/PTC improvement on the Rainy and Missabe Subs, plus added capacity for trains at Pokegama Yard. One recent project was the double tracking of the eastbound grade out of Superior up to Hawthorne. Here M356 works hard to get up the grade south of South Itasca as they past thru Hawthorne. The track on the right is the new trackage added for the double tracking thru here. |
