Remarks & Notes
Amtrak train 1, the westbound Sunset Limited, is due into Los Angeles Union Station at 8:30 am, but the train arrived much earlier as it was already in the station shortly after 7:00 am. By 8:45 am the train is on its way to nearby Redondo Junction for servicing, in order to be ready to depart Union Station at 3:00 pm this afternoon. One of Amtrak’s 40th Anniversary engines, P42DC 66, wearing the carrier’s "Phase II" paint, led the train on this trip. (Los Angeles, California – July 3, 2011)
