| Tomkins Cove Quarry - An auto train passes south through the Tomkins Cove Quarry, owned by Tilcon, and ceased stone-mining operations in 2012. The rusted structure that the train is passing under is an enclosed stone aggregate conveyor once used to move the quarried stone over the railroad and to the loading docks to be shipped by barge. Location is immediately north of Stony Point Battlefield which juts out into the Hudson River affording nice morning views of the rail line. |
