Highball Sand Creek Junction
I still cannot believe I climbed that 18” deep snow covered slippery slope and waited in subzero windchills for this frame. The Big Boy, 4014 in all his glory through the falling snow of a very Colorado snow storm evokes my imagination of those charming Pennsylvania Railroad Grif Teller illustrations of great limiteds passing steel mills in a snow storm. In this frame at Sand Creek, CO the steam lingered for minutes after Big Boy passed. |
