All was quiet, but not for long. A tour of the shop facilities of the East Broad Top Railroad on November 3, 2019 shows an exceptionally well preserved workshop, but that's not what workshops were made for. In February of 2020, it was announced that the railroad had been sold to a not for profit group and would be actively working to rehabilitate the railroad and rolling stock.
On August 13, 2020 for the 60th Anniversary of its reincarnation as a tourist railroad, the EBT will offer its first revenue rides in almost a decade. While it will be on diesel powered equipment, steam restoration is underway and it looks like only a matter of time until bigger events will start to take place.
