| First trip in the year 2020 of the heavy fuel oil fired 2-8-2 "Mikado" 141 R # 1244 of the association Mikado 1244 in Brugg AG. Round trip round the Lägern mountain from Wettingen via Turgi-Koblenz-Zurzach-Eglisau-Bülach-Zürich Altstetten to Wettingen. The train with 6 former SBB cars, now owned by Mikado 1244 and Club Bm 22-70, is accelerating to track speed after a short stop in Eglisau. Sight and sound of this "Mikado" in excellent condition are overwhelming! The 141 R # 1244 was built in 1946 by the Montreal Locomotive Works for the french SNCF and came to Switzerland in 1975. |
