BN 654, a former GN F7A, mates up with a former NP passenger B unit spending the night in Superior, WI. Even into the BN era, the head of the lakes area was slow to switch to second generation power. That was true of both GN and NP. Duluth had been NP's Alco headquarters prior to the merger. Those got shipped to Washington state after the merger, but NP Fs were still abundant.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
