| BN is one month old, and life at St. Paul Union Depot still feels like the Great Northern era. Amtrak has yet to arrive, so GN's newest passenger power, SDP45 no. 332 still mates up with older F units to keep the Empire Builder on time between St. Paul and Seattle. This power has just been exchanged for X-CBQ E units and the eastbound Builder is on its way down the Mississippi to Chicago. Soon BN will renumber and move the 8 big SDP45s to freight service to keep them away from Amtrak. MILW will due the same with their FP45s. |
