Remarks & Notes |
The stunning 82 arch and Grade II listed Harringworth Viaduct crosses the Welland Valley on the boundary of Northamptonshire and Rutland. The line has just one booked passenger service each day and is otherwise a freight only backwater. Occasionally however the route comes alive as a diversion to the Midland Mainline between Kettering and Loughbrough. On one such occasion a London St Pancras - Nottingham HST with the outgoing VP185 engined powercars 43048 and 43049 is pictured on the viaduct, the village of Harringworth in the foreground. |
