02:05 in the AM. Crickets, other insects, animal noises keep you company as you sit at County Road 3C. Right in front of you is the intersection of Country B, 3 and 3C. Few cars pass by, the occasional old Ford truck seen down the road at one of the many farms of the flat lands of Ohio. Approaching planes still high in the air but more than likely starting their descent into the airport in Toledo north of you. A shooting star or two can be seen. The heavy east and west traffic pounds the diamond at Deshler and sounds like you're sitting right at the crossroads of the north, south, east and west. A crackling radio and hear Q351 clear the Southwest Wye of the diamond at Deshler after the crew was notified their recrew van will be waiting for them at South Deshler. Time to get up, turn the camera on, focus. The edge of our existence staring at you behind a set of stop indications on the B&O signal bridge and on the dwarf signal. They come across the diamond, slowing down, giving some light against the B&O signal bridge. The shutter opens for a few seconds and quickly closes as you capture:
South Deshler Galaxy.
A growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom seen beauty of railroads in the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, lights are on! (I still find new "Lights In The Night"!)
