| The CHS (Cenex Harvest States) elevator uses EMD switch engines to shuffle grain cars around its 18 million bushel capacity facilities, the largest in Duluth-Superior. The facility dates back to 1941, located near the Blatnik Bridge (I-535) in Superior. This SW9 is listed both as ILSX 2117 and CHSX 2117. BNSF would be a major provider of grain traffic, although both CP and UP also serve the city. |
