The association steam railway Zürcher Oberland (DVZO) opened the season 2020 as first steam railway in Switzerland after the "Corona shut-down" on june 7th. Weather was rather poor, when train 31159 from Hinwil to Bauma with 2-6-2 T Eb 3/5 # 9 waited in Bäretswil for the crossing train from Bauma. The locomotive was built by Maffei/Munich/Germany in 1910 for the Bodensee-Toggenburg-Bahn (BT). After electrification of the BT, this steamlocomotive, together with 8 sisters, was sold to the SBB and run as # 5881 to # 5889. In 1966, the association Dampf-Loki-Club (DLC) Herisau bought the locomotive from the SBB and it was running mainly on the line of the Bodensee-Toggenburg-Bahn for birthday or wedding party trips, together with the cars of the AMOR EXPRESS. The 735 kW locomotive is now in service for the DVZO since a few years.
