In the early morning hours of June 3rd, 2020, Norfolk Southern train 310 (Elkhart, IN - Binghamton, NY) derailed in the town of Hunt, NY, just east of Letchworth State Park. Approximately 12 cars from the middle of the train, mostly autoracks, came off the tracks. In the early afternoon, a powerset of NS 4277 (GE AC44C6M) and NS 9401 (GE C44-9W) were dispatched from Buffalo to pick up the west half of 310's train. After coupling to the cut of cars in Hunt, the crew carefully inspected the train before they proceeded west to Buffalo. Here we see this train (symboled 97N) round the curve in Attica as it pops in and out of the evening shadows.
