A Union Pacific engineering special, train PLVSL-15, hustles through Frost, in California’s Mojave Desert, as it makes its way from Las Vegas, Nevada, to San Luis Obispo, California. The railroad’s newest special locomotive, SD70ACe 1111, decorated to honor the railroad’s employees, is powering this nine-car train, (The cars are power car 2066, crew sleeper 314 "Columbia River", business car 119 "Kenefick", museum car 5779, deluxe sleeper 1602 "Green River", deluxe sleeper 413 "Lake Bluff", Dome-Lounge 9005 "Walter Dean", diner 5011 "City of Denver" and inspection car 420 "Fox River".)
